It has been a while so I thought I’d better say hello and do a quick update!
Elsie has had a very eventful time recently – last week she had a horrible time, we think with teething, and her temperature went up, she was really grizzly and her cheeks went bright red. We just got that sorted when we went up to Yorkshire for a few days (to see Auntie Sally – recently returned from New Zealand, yay!) and Elsie had egg for the first time – her eyes swelled up and she went bright pink and blotchy, so we rushed her into A&E (where the nurse exclaimed oh my god! when she saw the colour of her – very reassuring). After examination they said there was nothing to worry about, but she was back on the Calpol for a couple of days to get over that.
She is fine now, and such a joy. She is really starting to be demonstrative in her affections, which is so rewarding to be around. She grins her big toothy gorgeous grin at me when I get home from work, and when I go in to her in the morning, and gets really excited when we play. We can have conversations now too where she’ll copy dadada, mamama or bababa sounds. She is also copying movements and altogether becoming more purposeful in everything she does. I am just in awe of her amazingness most of the time!
No new piccies yet, but just wanted to say hello anyway!
Newsflash! Newsflash! Elsie crawls!! Very briefly but there was definite bum off the floor forward movement! Up until now I think her very effective roll and rotate technique has been her undoing - as she has no reason to crawl really. But Pete brought round her pressie from Nepal last night, a chunky wooden elephant jigsaw and I put it just beyond reaching distance today and she went for it - yay!
We had a very nice day yesterday at Auntie Sally's - Uncle Jim, Auntie Gail and Arthur were over as well, so Elsie got to meet her cousin again. They are much more interested in each other these days, it is very cute.More pictures of Michael's barbeque now.
Last one for ce soir - I'm off to bed.
Elsie getting lairy with Jonathan!
I am knackered. I am so knackered. There is so much to do all the time. When we get home from work we just have to do stuff constantly just to keep on top of things - and then it's nine 'o' clock before we can even breathe. This is Auntie Katie checking Elsie for lice!
Wednesday 2 August - Elsie enjoyed looking at the books with Leanne.Rolling and playing happily with shape sorters.Happy playing with the activity mat.
Newsflash!!! Elsie has a tooth!! At the bottom in the middle. It is very sharp, and there is another one next to it about to come through too. What a big grown up girl!Updates from this week:
